This year, the Kutoa Foundation is partnering with County Councilman Michael Houser to support families in Cuyahoga County who are struggling this holiday season. Together, we’re adopting families, fulfilling wishlists, providing winter essentials, and delivering warm meals right to their homes.

What is Hope for the Holidays?

Hope for the Holidays is a seasonal initiative created to support families who need extra care during the holidays.


Some families in Cuyahoga County are quietly facing tough choices right now—between heat and groceries, gas and gifts, bills and basic needs. Our goal is simple: make sure a few of those families feel seen, supported, and cared for this Christmas.

This year, we are adopting 2–3 families, learning their specific needs and wishlists, and making sure Christmas still feels like Christmas.

How it Works

  1. Families are identified.
    In partnership with Councilman Houser’s office, we identify families in Cuyahoga County who could use extra support this Christmas.

  2. We receive wishlists and needs.
    Each family shares clothing sizes, gift ideas for the kids, and any urgent needs like coats, blankets, or household items.

  3. We raise funds.
    It costs about $1,000 to fully support one family. Donations go toward gifts, winter essentials, groceries, and a warm holiday meal.

  4. We shop, wrap, and prepare.
    We will shop for the items, wrap each gift with care, and organize everything by family.

  5. We deliver to the home.
    Gifts and a warm holiday meal are brought directly to the family’s home!
